My Chicks

Alright, they aren't really chicks anymore...they are officially chickens. And me and mom-mom are pretty sure one of them is a rooster. It's about twice the size of the other two...and it taunts the dogs. Oh well. Maybe he'll be a quiet rooster?

I am going to Grandma Susan's house today to play, and then mom-mom and daddy will meet me there later tonight for a party! Today is Grandpa Ken's birthday, and we're going to mom-mom's birthday tonight, too. And then....tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we have MORE parties! What a fun time of year this is...

Only two more days!!!

Little Grouch

I'm a little grouchy this morning. Mom-mom keeps laughing at me because I am getting upset about silly things. I cried because the Christmas tree had not been properly illuminated before my arrival in the living room this morning. I creid a little because I called Obi and Chewy came. I wanted OBI. And, mom-mom wouldn't let me open the door on my Christmas calendar and have candy for breakfast. No wonder I'm grouchy.

(Editor's note: We were originally trying to put a grouchy Jacob video here, but it was taking way too long to upload. We started at 10:30 this morning...it's now 11:40 and it was not done. Sorry.)

So, mom-mom and I are making carmel corn today. I even got to lick the spoon! See?

We have heard from everyone in Buffalo about all of the snow. And nope, we're NOT sorry that we wished for it (sorry Uncle Brian). I have been pointing out SNOW to mom-mom on tv, in pictures, everywhere I see anything white and fluffy...so I can't wait to go sledding and play in it! Mom-mom is really excited about our trip, too. She talked to Uncle Mick last night and after that, she decided she was officially as excited as a little kid about coming home for Christmas.

Only 3 more days!!!!!!

Shopping with Daddy

Daddy is home with us today, and he said he wants to get his Christmas shopping done. Me and mom-mom are done with all of our shopping because we did NOT want to have to go to a mall, or any store, really, til after Christmas. But, since daddy thinks he needs our help, we have to go with him. Oh boy!

Here are a few pictures of me playing with daddy this morning. We might consider these to be the "before shopping" pictures...I doubt there will be much smiling "after!"

And we heard a rumor about a big snow storm in Buffalo! That is very exciting news. I've got my boots all ready for sledding!

Have a great weekend! We love you all!

A New Choo Choo Train!

I got a new choo choo train last night! It was an early Christmas present from my friend Carson. I'm not sure how she knew that I would LOVE a train, but I've been playing with it non-stop since it came out of the package!

Here are just a few pictures of me playing this morning.

And a picture of me modeling a warm winter hat mom-mom made for someone!

Mom-mom and I are going to finish up just a few more Christmas presents today. In case you don't already know this, Christmas is just one week away...and that means I will go on my big trip and see everyone back in Buffalo in just 7 days!!!

Playing in the Rain

As a Southern California boy, I don't get to see a lot of rain. So, when it actually does rain, it's pretty exciting! It rained very hard yesterday, and while mom-mom was wiping off the dogs' muddy feet, I scooted out the door into the rain! It was lots of fun to stomp in puddles and dump the water out of all of my toys.

Here is a picture of me making my "choo choo train" in the yard. This is my favorite thing to do lately. As long as I have three things, ANY things, I line them up and then they are a train!

Look how wet I got! Since it was actually pretty cold out, mom-mom only let me play for a little while before I had to come in and have some hot hoho.

And a picture of me and my dogs, just because...

I'm going to play with Grandma Susan today and mom-mom is going to finish up her Christmas shopping.

Have a good day!

PS - Only 9 more days til I come to visit!!! (And by the way, mom-mom and daddy are coming with me. We talked to Grampa Mike yesterday and he said it seemed as if no one knew that...hmm.)

Choo choo Trains!

I went to the BEST PLACE EVER on Sunday with mom-mom and daddy. We went up to Del Mar Fairgrounds and saw a model train expo. There were trains EVERYWHERE. I loved it. I kept asking for "more choo choo trains?" til we saw all of them. There were even quite a few Thomas engines. It was lots of fun.

Here are a few pictures of me from the train show. Not very great pictures - we were too busy enjoying our day to worry about pictures!

I hope you are all ready for my visit - it's coming up in just 10 days!!!

Ridin' my Weedybug

Yep, weedybug. You can call her a ladybug if you want, but I like "weedybug." And I am very good at riding her around the house.

And a shot of me drinking and driving:

Since it's Friday, we hope you all have a great weekend. Me and mom-mom are going to see Grandma Susan play bells tonight (on the lawn of the Mormon temple - we're not actually allowed in) and then I might get to go with mom-mom to Uncle Brett's ugly sweater party tonight. We''ll see about that...

Love you all!

Silly Boys...and Dogs

I asked mom-mom to post this for me tonight since she has nothing better to do once I go to bed, and you can all enjoy it early in the morning while we are still asleep!

Here are some pictures of our dinner party...

Uncle Brett, his friend Craig (who bears a striking resemblance to someone mom-mom once knew...), Craig's girlfriend, and his little boy James all came over to have dinner with me and mom-mom. We sure did have a good time! Even though James is 5, and that's a LOT older than me, we played together all night. We even got the dogs to go crazy and chase us around the yard and house. It sounded a little bit like the zoo. Mom-mom said she felt like she could see into the future and what it might be like to have TWO of us running around the house all day. I'm afraid this did nothing to increase my chances of getting a little brother or sister anytime soon.

We sure do wish daddy could have been here for our fun night. Luckily, everyone had so much fun (and liked being fed) that we are going to do it again next week!

I hope you all have a great day. Me and mom-mom are probably gonna sleep in!

Love,
J
Mom-mom always wonders if all kids wake up in such a good mood...

And in case you are wondering, no, I did not sleep in just a diaper. Mom-mom already took off my footie jammies when we made this video. Our getting-out-of-bed process is quite complicated and time consuming. This is not a problem when we have nothing to do all day...

Also, notice how giant I look. I can almost stretch from one end of my bed to the other. Luckily, I don't try very hard to get out of this cage or we'd have to get a different bed!

Love,
J

Future Hairdresser

Mom-mom let me do my own hair the other night. I think I may have a future as a hairdresser to the stars! Come on...you've seen those crazy hairstyles in Hollywood.

And here's another funny thing to share: As mom-mom was sitting on the couch writing this post, I picked up the laundry basket containing a bunch of folded clothes and dumped it all over the floor. When she looked up, I asked her, "What'd you DO?" This is funny in itself, but even funnier if you've seen the movie Tommy Boy...ah, not even 2 and already quoting movies. Sheer genius.

I hope you have a great day!

Love, J

PS to Daddy - we'll see you on the computer camera tonight!

Sorry...

Sorry we are posting so late today, but me and mom-mom slept in very late. We didn't get up til almost 11:00! We had a very busy weekend and we were staying up too late. But mom-mom said it's Christmas time and it's ok to stay up late!

On Friday night we went to see Grandma Susan play bells at Balboa Park. It was fun to see the bell concert, but no so much fun to see every other person in San Diego trying to push their way around the park. But, I got to ride on the little train, so that made the whole night worth it.

On Sunday, we went to the nursery to get our Christmas tree! We got a very good deal from mom-mom's friend and came home with the prettiest tree ever. Then I took a nap, and when I got up, the tree was covered with lights and decorations. I was very excited!

Here are a few pictures of me from this morning when I got up. The first thing I did was run over to my Christmas tree and look for the little choo choo train. Mom-mom hid a little tiny one in there, and I spotted it right away. I think I'm gonna like this whole "Christmas" thing...

I hope you had as nice a weekend as I did!

Milestone

This is our 100th post! Very exciting.

And here's a video of me waking up from my nap yesterday. We admit, this is not an incredibly exciting video. However, I got up late and Grandma Susan was here to pick my up while I was still eating breakfast so we didn't have time to plan a more involved production this morning. Good thing none of you have anything better to do!

Turn up your volume...

Love, J

PS - Happy birthday to Uncle Brian (yesterday). Mom-mom tried to let me call you but it just went to voicemail and I'm not good at leaving messages. We'll try again tonight...

Good to the Last Drop

I tried something new yesterday! Mom-mom and I were a little chilly (we haven't actually turned our heater on yet, so it's just a little bit cold in the house sometimes). We decided to have a delicious cup of "hot hoho." Oh boy, I think I have a new favorite drink!

I hope you all have a good day!

Let's Go (to) Buffalo!

I got a package in the mail yesterday from my Aunt Candy. She is trying very hard win back her"favorite aunt" status. This helps...and it should help to calm the fears of everyone who thinks my giant head will freeze when I am in Buffalo!

And she thought an adult sized hat would be too big for my head!

Love, J

PS - Aunt Becky, you can call me anytime you want to talk :)

Long Weekend

How do I feel after a whole weekend of parties? Pretty happy.

We had a really nice Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Holko's house. Uncle Brett, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Darren were there, too. I ate so much pumpkin pie that I actually threw up. Mom-mom said that's what holidays are for, and that there is somewhat of a tradition of eating til you throw up in her family...something about Uncle Brian...

Friday was daddy's annual poker tournament. I got to play at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little while, but then mom-mom picked me up and I got to go to the poker game! I guess I wasn't a good luck charm for daddy, because he didn't win. I think they all had fun, though.

And Saturday we had ANOTHER party! I even got to play with some pretty little girls at this one. I was on my best behavior and shared my toys very nicely.

And THEN...here's the best part...while I took a nap yesterday, my front yard was turned into a Christmas carnival! There are lots of lights and big huge dogs and bears...I sure was surprised when mom-mom and daddy took me outside! We'll put some pictures up here once all of the decorating is finished!

Phew...that's a long story about MY weekend. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a really tasty dinner for Thanksgiving. I love you all very much and can't wait to visit everyone in Buffalo! It's just 24 more days!!!!!!!

Love, J
