My Friend Ella

Ella has been my girlfriend for more than 2 years now. We met at a class our moms took together when we were really little. We have the same birthday.

Ella moved to Idaho a while ago, but I still get to see her when she comes to San Diego to visit. Now that we are bigger, we can play together a little more. We even talked about things this time.

Here are some pictures of our visit to Mission Bay this afternoon. I had fun running around and playing with Ella, and Mom-mom had such a good time visiting with Ella's mom. We wish we got to see them more...

My turn to drive!

A girl is touching me, Mom!

Isn't she pretty?

Look at those eyelashes!

Ella let me push her on the swing!

What a good day. Now it's naptime for me AND Mom-mom.

Try, Try Again...

Well, we're going to try school again this morning. Hopefully it will be better than last Thursday. We'll see...

Here is a picture of the strange creature we saw running through our house yesterday. Yes, running. It crashed into things a lot. No, we don't know why it was naked.

Here I am with my very dirty face, eating goldfish and watching tv with mom-mom.
And here I am this morning. Mom-mom let me have some whipped cream on top of my smoothie. Yum!

We're off. Think happy thoughts for me today while I am at school.

Mr. Helpful

Mom-mom was trying to clean up and organize my toys this morning. I'm helping.

I'm helping by taking each and every toy she puts away back out to test it and see how it looks on the coffee table.

Happy Monday.

Drawing Daddy

And the masterpiece...

What talent. And to be able to narrate while drawing - truly gifted. Just don't ask for any autographs or special commissions. The artist is "too busy."

Friday

We've got nothing exciting to talk about today. Mom-mom and I are staying home and playing today. Hopefully it doesn't get as hot as it did yesterday...

Tomorrow morning, Mom-mom is going to visit her friend in Phoenix. She's having a baby, too! I will be spending about 30 hours alone with daddy. I'll provide a full report to Mom-mom when she gets back.

Hope you have a great weekend!

For Gramma Jojo

Here's a video, as requested!

Love you, Gramma Jojo!

XOXOXO,
J

Brat!

I am SOOOO tricky.

Mom-mom can't leave anything on the counter anymore. I saw some cookies there this morning while I was eating breakfast. I quietly got up, went and grabbed my stool, and stole a cookie.

Since I am still not convinced that there is anything wrong with this, I came running in to tell Mom-mom.

About 3 minutes after this happened, Mom-mom answered her phone and was distracted for a mintue. When she hung up, I was very quiet...and this is never a good sign. While Mom-mom was on the phone, I stole her bagel! Isn't that funny?

And about the school thing...yesterday was a better day (kinda). I got really upset when we pulled in to the parking lot and refused to get out of the car. I begged mom-mom not to make me go. She said I had to try it for a few minutes, but that if I really didn't want to stay I didn't have to. She sat with me while we waited for the teachers to let us in, and I wasn't crying exactly, but I wasn't happy. I made mom-mom come in the classroom with me and she tried to get me to play with this neat foamy stuff that was out on the tables. I really, really wanted to play with it, but was so afraid mom would leave that I barely touched it. Finally, I decided I couldn't resist, and got a little bit happy. Miss Ali came over and played with me, and let me sit on her lap. This made me feel a LOT better and mom-mom left...I didn't even scream like I did last week.

When mom came back to pick me up, Miss Ali was nice enough to show her a bunch of pictures of me smiling and playing during the day. I know this made mom very happy to see me having fun. I was actually smiling when she got back (this is the first time that has happened) and I announced, "I had a good day!"

Tomorrow, I get to bring my bike. I think it might be another "good day."

What a Bum

Mom-mom was looking all over for me this morning so that we could snap a few pictures after breakfast. It's very funny to me when I sit very quietly and don't answer her...not sure why she doesn't think this is a hilarious as I do...

When she finally found me, I was snuggled up in her bed watching Sesame Street. Good thing mom-mom loves me so much or I would probably get in trouble for not answering her when she called me.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Waiting...

Mom-mom and I took a few more pictures this morning. The new letter for our wall arrived the other day, and we opened up our package finally.

Here's the new letter that will be going on our wall!

Had we known we were going to do a photo shoot this morning, we might have chosen a better background...or put on pants, maybe. Oh well. I guess you can't script life :)

Love, Big Brother Jacob

P.S. In case you are wondering what the "R" is for...my little brother's name will be Ryan Michael. We like it :)

Cookie Crook!

There's a cookie crook in our house this morning! Mom-mom left some peanut butter cookies out on the counter, and someehow they keep disappearing.

We snapped some pictures of the thief...a little blurry since he was moving so fast!

Oh wait. He looks like me.

May your day be filled with cookies and giggles, too!

Bath Time

I've finally been able to take baths again! Showering in daddy's shower is not as much fun as you might think. Baths, with bubbles, are WAAAY better.

We're off to school this morning. I am going to try real hard to be a good boy and not cry. Mom-mom knows that part of my crying is just because I don't want to stop playing with the trucks, so I think she has a little less sympathy for me now. We'll see how today goes. I told her I will only "cry a little bit" at school.

At the Beach

Yesterday we went to La Jolla Cove to watch Uncle Brett compete in the Gatorman competition! He (and hundreds of other people) had to swim from the cove to the pier at Scripps, and then back. I think it's about 3 miles. Check out the waves crashing on the rocks in this picture...they were swimming in this water!

While Daddy and I were standing out here, we saw dolphins! Sometimes it's nice to live in San Diego...

Hope you had a great weekend, too. I'm going to play with Grandma Susan today. She's been out of town so I haven't seen her in two weeks! Mom-mom is going to the doctor to check on my baby brother.

Have a good day!

First Day of School

Yesterday was my first day of "school."

The day started off great. I was happy. Mom-mom was happy. We had breakfast. We got dressed. We got our backpack packed up and ready to go.

We took pictures in front of the house. We saw about 100 school buses on the way there. I was very excited.

We got to school found my classroom. I went in and headed straight for the trucks. I barely looked up as Mom-mom said goodbye to me and left.

Mom-mom admitted that she felt a little bit sad after she got in the car to leave. I guess she thought it was hard to leave me there.

I had a good time in the first part of the day while we were inside the classroom, and I liked playing outside with the toys and other kids. Something happened when we came back in, though. I had a little bit of a meltdown. Or, as I told Mom-mom later, "I freaked out, mom."

So...Mom-mom's phone rang because I had been crying very hard for about 20 minutes at school. The teachers thought maybe it would be nice if my Mom came back a little early to get me. She came in to find me face down on the floor, sobbing harder than I ever have before. She felt very sad for me and picked me up and took me to lunch with daddy.

After about 10 minutes, I was back to normal. Here is my take on the whole school thing after a day to think about it...

So, no worries. I'll be going back on Thursday (with my bike) and we'll try this again.

New Chair

Mom-mom and I were at Ikea the other day, looking for something (we can't remember what it was now). We were checking out the As-Is section, and I found my new favorite place to sit!

It's great because I can rest my drinks on the arm and tuck me feet up while I watch Mighty Machines with my dogs.

And for those who may have never heard of Mighty Machines, I highly recommend it. I have several different versions, I it's the first thing I talk about when I wake up in the morning. All boys like it...even daddies and grandpas.

Tuesday is a big day...my first day of school. Mom-mom has all of my stuff packed up and my clothes picked out. We will take lots of pictures and post some later. Wish me luck!

New School Open House

This particular picture has nothing to do with our post today, but mom-mom wanted to share this photo and wonders if anyone can guess what I am telling her here...a dirty diaper goes to the winner!

Last night, Mom-mom, daddy, and I went to my new school for an Open House! I cried when it was time to leave...so that's probably a good sign.

I got to meet my teachers, Miss Ali and Miss Carolyn. They were both SO nice, and I know I'm going to have a really fun time when I start school next week. I will be going every Tuesday and Thursday morning. I am such a big boy!

After visiting the school, we came home and played out in the yard for a while. It has been SO hot lately that my outside toys have been missing me. So, we blew bubbles, threw toys for the dogs, and even chased the chickens around a little! Here are a few pics...

The most ridiculous looking chicken ever...
Today, Mom-mom and I are headed out of the house for a while. Our friend Ryan is here to do some work and for some reason Mom-mom doesn't think I will be much of a help...

Hope you have a great day, and a good weekend, too!

Love, J

PS - Daddy is going back down to the city today to see about starting this whole permit process again...wish us luck!
