Garden Date

This morning, I got to take Mom to school with me!

Well, we didn’t actually go to school, but we went on a field trip to the Botanical Gardens. Mom sort of likes stuff like that.

It was a great day.

I got to have lots of “best buddy” hugs with Noah.

One more…

pIMG_8627

We got to plant our own little plants and bring them home. I have done this before, so it was pretty easy for me.

pIMG_8638

Since we haven’t been to the gardens for a while, this was the first time we got to see the tree house. This thing is so cool!

pIMG_8643

My Mom thinks I’m super handsome.

pIMG_8645

I jumped right after Mom snapped this picture.

And then, after we left the gardens, Mom and I went to Grampa Mike’s favorite restaurant and had lunch and a Pizookie! If you’ve never had one of these before, we’d highly recommend it.

Have a great weekend!

Love, J

Working Man

You might think Saturdays are for resting. Not for me. I’m working with Daddy today.

We’re building Mommy a new coffee table.

It’s going to be super sturdy, since Ryan and I like to sit on the coffee table. And we like to jump on it.

Good thing I’m here to help Dad.

J

Oatmeal Cookies

This morning while Jake was playing wii, Momma and I snuck into the kitchen to do something on our own.

Momma said we could make cookies and I could help!

I’m really a super helper. I taste every ingredient to make sure they are tasty. Brown sugar was good.

pIMG_8557

The batter was good.

pIMG_8567

I helped mix up the flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. The cinnamon smelled so good that I had to taste this mixture. Not as tasty as you might think…

pIMG_8565

I had to try it again once those things were mixed in there. YUM.

pIMG_8562

The ladies have finally started laying eggs again, so we used those.

pIMG_8559

Those cookies sure turned out good.

pIMG_8570

Cute, huh?

Happy Monday!

Bozo in a Box

This is just a test post…

IMG_8517

Anyone else use Windows Live Writer? Is it awesome? Is there some cool feature I should know about?

99

We were going a little crazy this morning so Mom decided we needed a project.

We went all around the house and collected every car and truck we could find. We checked under beds, couches, cabinets, even in the car.

Check out this pile!

IMG_8523

I wasn’t sure if they would go all the way from there to my bedroom. Mom asked me to figure out how we’d find out.

IMG_8524

We started lining them up to see how far we could get.

IMG_8525

Ryan helped.

IMG_8528

Out of the room, around a few corners…

IMG_8532

…and down the hallway we go!

IMG_8533IMG_8534IMG_8535

We didn’t make it all the way to the end of the hall, but it was pretty close.

Ryan decided he needed to sit on the cars and try to ride the train.

IMG_8536

IMG_8538

Then, we counted then all up. I guessed there were 100.

IMG_8544

Turns out that was a pretty good guess. There were 99.

And this is what it looks like when you smash a line with 99 cars in it. (This is probably what the freeway will look like here over the weekend if it rains like it’s supposed to…)

IMG_8548

The smashing and crashing was Ryan’s favorite part.

Hope you have a great weekend!

"OWL" Help!

Today's post is a result of a combination of two things.

First is something Ryan says about 350 times every day.

"I'll help!"

It's cute. Not sure if it's helpful, but it's cute.

The second part of today's post comes as a result of the tons of toilet paper rolls Mom has been saving. Over the last few weeks, we've all asked her what the heck she was saving them for.

(You'd be amazed, or more likely disgusted, by the number of empty rolls we've accumulated in such a short period of time. Just wait til Ryan starts contributing! This family sure does use a lot of toilet paper...do we poop more than other people? Gross. Sorry.)

Anyway, Mom said she didn't know WHY she was saving the rolls, but that surely they could be used for something.

Thanks to a quick Pinterest search for "toilet paper" we found the inspiration for our morning project.

Ryan likes to do anything that involves markers.

Check out the beautiful colored feathers on this one!

I went with a more abstract design, but if you have imagination you can obviously see this is an owl wearing a t-shirt. He's smiling, too.

They kept trying to jump up into the plants!

Anyone know what a group of owls are called? We don't.

Happy Monday!

Love,
J

Oh, Whatever

What? Posts from the entire last month have gone missing?

Weird.

It's almost like we never even had time to write any.

So we'll just pretend we didn't miss any and carry on. Okay? Good.

I got my hair cut.

I wasn't sure I needed a haircut, but Mom insisted.

I guess it's not too bad. Makes me look older. Like I'm big enough to ride a bike with no training wheels or something.

Yeah. Did you catch that? NO TRAINING WHEELS.

I'm awesome.

Love,
J
