Everyone has seen those contests they run in magazines. You know the ones where they show you a picture and you are supposed to think up a caption for it?
Well, here you go! The winner (chosen by a panel of highly qualified judges) will receive a special gift from ME!
Contest entries must be received by Monday, March 2nd.
Good luck!

I am Totally Two
Yes, you read that correctly. I am totally a two year old. Cute, sweet sometimes, quite funny...and two.
I just wanted to remind everybody who reads this of a few things:
Love, J
- I LOVE you all. Family, friends, friends of friends...I love you all and I'm thankful to have such a wonderful group of people around me.
- I'm still asking for prayers for my cousin. We don't have any updates yet, but prayers are much appreciated.
- I like to pee in the pool. I announced this to mom-mom yesterday at swimming and she told me to shut up, and that announcements were not necessary. Sorry to anyone who swims with me (Jack and his mommy)...

In a Hurry...
Me and mom-mom are in a hurry to get to swimming this morning. We slept in VERY late today (both of us did!) and now we are shoving some waffles in our mouths and heading out the door.
Even though I am being rushed, I still am able to pose for the camera!
Here's "happy":
And here's "sad":
(Note: I am not actually sad in this picture...I am pretending to be sad.)
Have a great day!

Mom-mom and I have been playing out in the yard all morning. Sorry we didn't post earlier today, but we were VERY busy. We had to throw the toys for the dogs, feed the fish, throw rocks at them, chase the chickens...so many things to do!
Have a great day!

The Feast
Last week, we posted about our eggs. Well, now we are posting about FRIED EGGS!
Daddy cooked our eggs on Saturday morning for breakfast. They were delicious, and I ate FOUR.
I am such a good helper. It's great that I figured out how to use a stool to reach more stuff on the counter. Now I can help myself to whatever I want (when mom-mom isn't looking).
Yum!
In other exciting chicken news, we figured out that it really was only one chicken laying all of those eggs. Mom-mom found a weird shell-less egg on Saturday morning, and daddy saw the black chicken go into the nest on Sunday morning. When we checked it out, there was an egg! And it is a different color from the ones we already had...more blue. Very exciting.
We promise, we won't talk about chickens for a while now.
Today we are thinking of cousin Ken and Aunt Kelly, and we are adding Auntie Lindsay and Uncle Mick to our list, too. Auntie Lindsay goes back to work tomorrow and we know she's sad to leave baby Carleigh...but we know they will both be just fine! And Uncle Mick ended up in the ER yesterday after suffering from a kick ball injury. (Go ahead. Laugh. We did.) Nothing life-threatening, but separated shoulders are definitely no good. Feel better soon!
Have a great Monday!

Pants Off Dance Off
Again, I have no pants on...
I am learning the words to LOTS of songs and will be presenting them over the next several weeks. I am taking requests, as well.
Since today is Friday, I want to wish everybody a good weekend. Please keep my cousin Ken and also my Auntie Kelly in your prayers. Kelly's Gramma passed away and we know she is sad.

EGGS!
While we were on vacation last week, something very exciting happened at our house.
Remember those silly chickens that we have? Well, they started laying EGGS! Me and mom-mom aren't too sure if they are both laying eggs or if it's just one, but it is very exciting. I help mom-mom get the eggs in the morning when we feed the chickens. We are saving them up for the weekend and then we are going to have a big egg breakfast with daddy!
Here's the egg in the nest.
Here I am doing the quality check. Mom-mom doesn't understand why this must be done without pants.
"It's a good one!"
No, no. Don't eat the egg yet.
And here are the eggs we've collected so far (minus the three broken ones that we threw out).
And to answer the most common question: We don't know. Everyone asks what color they are...they are kind of a brownish-greenish color. Like if you took a white egg and quickly dipped it into ALL of the Easter egg dyes. Maybe they will change color over time, maybe this is just the color they will be. Maybe only one chicken laid all of these eggs (they are all exactly the same) and the other will lay different ones. We'll see!
A note on the "no pants" thing...I have recently decided that I do not like to wear pants. At all. Last night mom-mom said I had to wear pants for dinner, so Darren helped me put some on. As soon as I was finished and got down from my seat, I announced that it was time for "PANTS OFF!" Fantastic.
Everybody have a good day today! Sorry we didn't post anything yesterday, but we were much too busy. We went to our swimming group in the morning and I got to see my new friend Jack and play in the water. I came home and covered myself in mud (quite literally from head to toe), took a bath, then took a 3 1/2 hour nap. Doesn't leave much time for blogging, I'm afraid. But, I did want to wish my Aunt Candy a Happy Birthday!!! I hope she had a wonderful day. And I also wanted to remind my cousin Ken that we love him and we're thinking about him. Big hugs!

Singing in the Morning
Since I am still on East Coast time, I woke up early this morning. Some boys might cry in the morning when they wake up...I like to sing! The first song I sung this morning was "Happy Birthday." It made mom-mom laugh.
Here is a version of "Baby Bumblebee." Not my BEST version, but I am singing with half a waffle in my mouth.

I'm going over to Grandma and Grandpa Holko's house today to play. I'm going to "help" Grandma with her laundry.
Have a good day, and remember to keep thinking good thoughts for my cousin Ken!

We're Baaaaack!
We are back from our vacation, safe and sound. We can't say that about all of our luggage, but we're hoping for the best!
Mom-mom is working on getting all of her pictures from the trip sorted out and will post more here later. You can check out www.familycruise2009.snapfish.com/snapfish in a little bit and there will be some pictures there.
While we were away on our trip, we got some news about my cousin Ken (he and I share both a name and a birthday). We are asking anybody who know Ken, knows us, or knows how to say a little prayer to send some good thoughts his way. We love him and are thinking of him.

Tuesdays with Grumpa
A boy and his grampa.
We were much too busy to post anything earlier today. Mom-mom and I are just catching up now. We were having way too much fun with Grumpa to sit here inside with a computer!
This morning we took Grumpa to our Zoo. We wanted to go on the train at Balboa Park, but apparently they didn't know me and Grumpa were coming - they were closed. So, we went to the Zoo instead.
Grumpa taught me to count the flamingos. If you are familiar with the way he taught me to count butterflies, you'll understand why we are laughing here as we count "flamingo, flamingo, flamingo, flmngo, flmno...".
We checked out some monkeys. I kinda liked the birds that were flapping aound in there better than the monleys that were actually part of the exhibit.
And then we spent the entire rest of our visit at the petting zoo. This is also funnier if you know that Grumpa has goats at home.
Those goats and sheep sure were fun to play with. I am pretty sure I should be able to ride them, but mom-mom kept telling me that they were NOT horsies. I think she might be wrong.
Thank you so much Grumpa Mike for coming to my house for my birthday. You helped make my party even more special, and I'm so glad that I got to spend some time with you yesterday and today. Mom-mom and I can't wait til we get to have the same fun again next week with Jojo, too!

What a Weekend!
Oh my goodness...what a weekend!
On Friday, I got a real neat surprise when I was at the grocery store with Grandma Susan. We saw a fire truck in the parking lot and walked over to see it up close. The nice firemen let me drive the truck! I got to sit up in the seat and steer. And then they gave me a fireman badge. It was a great early birthday present for me. Firemen sure are great guys...
THEN, went spent Saturday morning at home, just me, mom-mom and daddy. It was really nice outside so we ate our breakfast on the patio and played for a while in the sun. Mom-mom caught me and daddy having a man-to-man conversation by the pond. He was telling me all the things I would need to know when I was 2. I'm lucky to have such a good daddy!
And just when we thought the day couldn't get any better, we got a great surprise. Well, daddy and I knew about it, but we sure did surprise mom-mom. Me and daddy went out for a while when mom-mom was making my cake and we came home with a surprise visitor!!! Grampa came for my birthday!!! Mom-mom was so happy to see him, and I was happy to finally have someone in the house who can read my butterfly book the right way.
Here's the cake mom-mom made me for my 2nd birthday. She thought it turned out pretty good. And it was really tasty!
Here's a picture of me checking out my Thomas cake and comparing it to the model in front of me...not bad, mom-mom.
Grampa helped me blow out my candle. We did a fantastic job!
And then daddy cut me a GIANT piece of cake. I had a little help, but I pretty much ate the whole thing. Wow.
I got a TON of Thomas pieces for my borthday, and I am the happiest little boy ever right now. Gramma Jojo sent me some really neat animal cars for my trains, Grandma Susan and Grampa Ken gave me a few more, Uncle Brett gave me MORE, and Aunt Sarah even gave me some Thomas guy for the bathtub! Sarah gave me some clothes, too, which I insisted on putting on immediately and kept on all night. Really...a 2 year old who is excited about clothes. Uncle Darren gave me some poker chips and a really neat fire truck with lights and sirens. And then I got another special gift from Grandma Susan, too. She gave me my very own set of golf clubs! I can't wait til I get to use them outside.
Mom-mom thinks this is funny...I'm not sure why...but I kept crawling back up into my chair all night and singing "Happy Birthday" to myself. The first time we did it, I got cake. The second time, mom-mom gave me more cake...I think I've got this birthday thing figured out!
Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I am a very, very lucky boy to have such special friends and family. I love you all so much.
