Who ARE Those Guys?

We're not sure who they are, but they sure are funny.

This is our last day in San Diego for a while. Tomorrow morning, we're off to Ohio for a wedding, and then Sunday we'll be headed up to Buffalo for a visit! We'll be there until the 11th of October...we can't wait to see everyone!

Thomas, Too

I found the COOLEST thing in the garage the other day. A whole big bin FULL OF TRAINS.

I don't know why anyone would have thought it was a good idea to put these things away.

Jacob likes playing with the trains, too. We've both been taking an engine or two everywhere we go.

Mom is super excited to add "picking up train pieces" to the list of things to clean up every day. I wonder why they were in the garage...

Have a great weekend!

Not So Bad

At first I didn't like the idea the Jake got to stay at his fun school and I had to come home with Mommy.

But I think I can get used to it...

Yeah, life's pretty good at home.

Happy Tuesday,

Disney Driver

Wow, do I have a lot to say right now. Everyone just got back from Disneyland. I, somehow, was not invited.

I have seen pictures of this trip, and at first I was a little pissed. All of this visiting with characters and going on rides...pretty fun stuff.

Then I saw this video...and I got REALLY pissed off.

Are you kidding me? He got to DRIVE the car?

I'm calling CPS. Clearly, I'm being abused.

That jerk will probably come home and post pictures of his little Disney trip later...

Humph.

Rainy Day...Wait. Huh?

Uh, yeah. It rained here today.

This would be considered extremely unusual if not for the fact that Uncle Brian is here. He makes it rain in San Diego.

Maybe we should give his number to the fire department. What with our forest fires and all, he could be useful.

We had to think up a good inside project for this morning. A nice, clean project.

So, painting was what Mom chose.

But look at how good we are!

All three of us shared a workspace quite successfully.

Carleigh worked mainly in pinks and purples. Such concentration!

Ryan was more into the blues...

I, myself, used a wide variety of colors, successfully achieving a lovely brown hue.

Ry's palette.

Carleigh's almost-finished masterpiece.

After our work, we all jumped into the car and headed out to John's Incredible Pizza. It was so much fun. We ate lots of pizza and played tons and tons of games. The kind of games that spit out tickets. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better...we learned that there are "ticket eaters." Those things are the most fun games in the whole place!

Tonight Uncle Brian and Aunt Lindsay headed out for the evening. So, we had some dinner, took a bath and snuggled up with our favorite blankies to watch a movie.

Tonight's feature film? Beauty and the Beast. On something that Dad had to "rewind," whatever that means.

We thought this would be a good movie to prepare us for our DISNEY trip tomorrow!

Tomorrow will be a big day. My first day back at school, which I'm pretty excited about, AND then an overnight Disney trip with Carleigh. Lucky me!

J

Carleigh Time

Carleigh is here! We've been having such a good time this weekend. Here are a few pics of our adventures...

Here's Ryan, the left-handed Sit-n-Spinner.

Cutie Carleigh, in pink.

Aunt Lindsay making me laugh. Love her.

Who wants a Chewy ride? Go, Carleigh, go!

Dads and kids waiting to get on our harbor cruise.

Cheese balls.

I'm so handsome.

See, my Mom does actually exist. Carleigh caught a picture of her.

Wouldn't this have been such a nice picture of three cute kids...if Ryan and Carleigh would just smile.

We were cold.

Carleigh's picture of Her mommy.

And Carleigh's picture of her daddy. Yes, she really did take these pictures.

San Diego. Founded by the Germans...

We're all a little tired today so we're taking naps and heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Holko's for some swimming.

What a good way to spend the last weekend of the summer...

Mountain Men

Phew! it's been a busy week.

It started with picking Uncle Mick up from the airport last Friday. We had SO much fun playing with him while he was here. We even got to go camping.

Little boys. Big tree.

Collecting stuff.

Looking out for ostriches. (I announced to Uncle Mick that there was an ostrich in our campsite. He thought it might be a turkey. We decided it was funnier to call them ostriches.)

Ryan right before he crashed.

All camped out.

Uncle Mickey making fire.

Or at least making smoke. Turns out, the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" isn't always true...

The cabin.

Helping Uncle Mick.

Daddy bow drilling. It took some practice...

...but he got it!

Probably the last fire Dad will ever start in this way. (We won't re-tell the story here to save Dad from any further embarrassment...but let's just say we better not ever run out of matches.)

Me and my Dad.

Direct quote: "Hey guys! Those clouds look like boobs!"

Ryan at the ice cream parlor. He looks suspiciously like Gary Busey.

A little llama drama on the streets of Julian.

Nice teeth.

I love him.

Me and Ryan, dancing out in the field.

Checking stuff out under the big tree.

Ryan was trying to sneak something out of Dad's pocket.

The inside of the cabin. It was so nice...but I didn't sleep in there. I slept in a tent with Uncle Mick.

That's it for camping photos. We are back home now. We took Uncle Mick back to the airport on Tuesday.

We were pretty sad to see him leave, but we headed right back to the airport Wednesday morning to pick up Uncle Brian, Lindsay, and Carleigh!!!

We have been having an awesome time playing together already. We'll post some more pics of our fun later.

Love,
J
