Raspberries

And here are a few raspberries to go along with Jake's blueberries...

Lucky Ducky

Jake has been working on a few things with Mom. First, they are working on the whining thing. It's about time. Seriously. I can't stand to hear him whine anymore. He's been doing better.

The second thing Jake has been trying to improve is his attitude toward me. It has been much better in the last few days. Today, he even shared his Lucky Charms with me!

And as Mom was sitting at her computer typing this, she caught Jake sneaking me a few of his blueberries. It's nice that he is sharing his things with me and being nice...maybe next Mom could teach him what types of foods are appropriate for little guys like me.

I'm off. I need a bath.

Bald Heads

Ok, look at the camera, guys.

...or look at Ryan...

...or Jake...
Ok, 2 out of 3 looking at the camera. Better.

"Uncle Mickey, we need to look at mom."

There we go.

This morning it was sad to take Uncle Mick back to the airport so that he could go back to North Carolina. But as sad as we feel to see him go, we can't help but feel lucky to have had such a nice visit with him, and we are excited to see him take off on his next adventure. He promised he will take us out in the woods with him someday, though the more time he spent with us, the older the acceptable age for this trip got. Someday...

We love you, Uncle Mick!

Pillow Fight

Jacob loves to play this game when people come to visit. Somehow, he always gets people to agree to it.

I don't get it. I mean, why is this fun for anyone?

Jake was actually being nice to me this morning, though. After I had a bath, he said I smelled ok and he even gave me a hug. He read to me, too. For almost one whole minute!

How could anyone not adore me?

We don't know what adventures we will find this afternoon, but it's sure to be a good day.

He's Here!

Uncle Mick got here last night. This is pretty much what we've been doing since then.

We stayed up late last night watching Up, and then we watched Jungle Book this morning.

Uncle Mick got up with us this morning and made me breakfast. He even got Ryan dressed. A pretty good start to the day, i think. Maybe we'll go outside and do something today...or maybe we'll put in another movie. No matter what, I think it will be a great day!

Big News!

We're on our way out the door to my last say of school so we don't have much time for a long post, BUT...there's big news!

Uncle Mick is coming! Today! He called us yesterday and said he wanted to come for a visit, and he's coming! We're all very excited.

See?

School Days

School days are almost over. It's hard to believe that when the school year started, Ryan was but a bump under mom's shirt and I was the kid hurling himself at the classroom door when she left. My, how we've grown!

Mom and Ryan came a little early to pick me up yesterday.

Here is my cubby. Many treasures have been placed in this little cubby over the year.

This is circle time. Ms. Ali is the best. We all sit and sing songs together before it's time to go. See me?

I think this is where we are singing a song about swimming...

Ms. Ali calls each of us by name and tells us we can get up. My best buddy and I usually get called together.

We begin and end every school day like this. Luckily, we will still get to play together all summer.
My last day of school is next Tuesday. Mom is not sad that she won't have to drive me over there twice a week, but she knows how much I loved being in Room 4. For some reason, she seems to think I should stay little like this forever. But I'm movin' on up to Room 5 next year (with my best friend - YAY!).

I thought I would be a funny guy while Mom was getting Ryan in the car.

Hah!

And just one more picture of me. This one made it into the newsletter this week!

We're off to the park to play with my friend Ella today. I'm sure Mom will take a thousand pictures of that, too.

J

Art Therapy

Jake had a relapse.

Yesterday, Mom and I went outside after he went to his room for a nap. We heard him come out but ignored him, figuring he would just go back to bed. He did, but not without doing a little sneaky business first.

When we came back in, we noticed that Jake's little blue stool had moved. It sure looked like someone was trying to get something off of the ledge.

Then Mom remembered what had been sitting there.

We went in to peek at Jake, and sitting there, right on his bedside table, was a binkie. We figured it wasn't too bad since it was just sitting there on the table.

Mom and I thought it was kinda funny. (I think everything Jake does is funny.) Relapse is often part of recovery. He hadn't gone too far...it was just sitting there next to his bed. We laughed about it when Jake got up.

Until Mom went in to pick up his room and found the second binkie sticking out from under his pillow.

He called his sponsor and is again focusing on recovery.

On a lighter note, Mom created a new gallery space to show off our artwork. (***Dad helped.***)

I'm still working on my first collection, so the featured artist this month is Jake Holko. The title of the exhibit is "Preschool in Pictures." It is a collection of the artist's work throughout his first year in preschool. It's pretty impressive.

Have a great day!

Weekend with Cooper

This is my friend Cooper. He is Ms. Ali's (my teacher) dog.

He came home from school with me last Thursday so that he could spend a weekend with my family.

We spent lots of time cuddling on the couch, watching shows and eating fruit snacks.

We went for bike rides on my little bike. (I'm still working on gathering the courage to ride my big bike.)

We drew pictures together. Cooper is quite an artist.

Cooper operated my green tractor.

He hung out in mom's garden.

I introduced him to my good friend Fluffy.

Chewy took a liking to him immediately.

He even got washed up with me at night.

We took all of these pictures and put them into Cooper's book so that I could share our adventures with my friends in school. I was really excited to show everyone what Cooper and I did over the weekend. It was nice of Ms. Ali to let him come and visit me.

Video Friday

We are looking for feedback on this YouTube video thing. Mom tried doing it this way so that we could view the videos in fullscreen mode (click the little icon on the bottom right of the video window). We don't love the fact that it links to a whole bunch of other people's videos at the end...what do you think?

We're starting our weekend off today with a visit from our friends Alice and Dave. We haven't seen them since last summer and I am really excited thast they will get to visit with me for a bit.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

J

A Few (too many) Pictures

Welcome to our afternoon. No one napped today for some reason...

Possibly it was the three bowls of Lucky Charms I had for breakfast.

Being sweet to each other...(This is rare. Perhaps you have noticed that we pretty much never post pictures taken together?)

What a day...at least we were still laughing at the end of a long afternoon.
