Butterflies, Beaches and.....zzzz.....

This morning my class went to see butterflies! We drove up to Encinitas to visit the Monarch Program's butterfly house.

(Ask my mom about the grumpy fellow who ran it. She said if you clearly dislike and are annoyed by children, you probably shouldn't invite 15 3 year olds over and then try to make them watch a slideshow.)

The butterfly house itself was pretty neat, though...not real big, but there were lots of friendly butterflies in there.

We got to feed them their breakfast - nasty, old watermelon. I tried a bite (even though everyone told me not to) and it was horrible.

Yes, we had to take him along, too.

We got to pet some caterpillars.

I thought these were pretty cool. You could even see through some of them and see the wings of a butterfly ready to hatch!

The nice butterfly lady showed us some eggs and little, tiny baby caterpillars.

Can you see the eggs and the teeny, tiny caterpillar right near the middle? Cute, huh?
We were supposed to have lunch with all of the kids from school but we couldn't find a parking spot so we made our own plan! We went to the beach to play for a while.

Mommy says I look like Bigfoot walking in the picture. I don't see it.

Daddy met us for lunch and brought me a chocolate milkshake. Way tastier than the water and apples mom packed.

Ryan was getting tired so we had to leave. I wasn't tired at all. Nope, not me...

Happy Memorial day weekend, everyone! We love you.

Bike Day!

Thursdays at school are bike days. Today my bike was at grandma's house when mom dropped me off at school. She promised she would bring it back for me. I was SO happy when she did!

Big Boys

Can you believe how big I am getting? Mom bought me a new chair to sit in (Jake wasn't too excited about sharing his with me) and I LOVE it.

The best part about a new chair? New food! I got to try some real big boy food today. You might think that those little puffs that melt in your mouth aren't big boy food, but if all you've ever eaten is milk and squishy stuff, these puffs are practically steak!

So happy!

And since we have a video, here's a video, too (watch for Jake's bad behavior)...

This video was immediately followed by a TIME OUT.

Luckily, I'm not quite that big yet. With the way Jake carries on about it, it must be absolutely horrible.

Monkey Monster

I made something in school the other day. It's pretty awesome.

Daddy asked me what it was. When I told him it was a MONSTER, he got a little scared. So to make him feel better...I told him it was really a monkey. And monkeys are not scary.

Mom felt this was worthy of a photo. I ate salad tonight. Actual green pieces of lettuce. They tasted really good, particularly when dipped in ranch dressing.

And this is what my dogs look like after a day of playing with me. I can tire anyone out, even Obi.

Moms' & Dads' Day

This morning we all got to go to school with Jacob for a special family day.

There were presents for mommy and daddy...

A beautiful heart pin for mommy

And train and dinosaur magnets for daddy.

Mommy really loved these next two.

We have a video, too...

Ordinary Day

Nothing special or particularly interesting here...just some video of our day.

On second thought, it actually is pretty special. We are happy. We are healthy. We laugh together. The sun shines and we have food to eat. Life is good.

You know what else is good? Ice cream. And here is a picture of our cousin Carleigh enjoying it. This picture is just way too cute for us to not share! We miss you, CJ. XOXOX

Memory

Mommy and I had a great afternoon together yesterday. Ryan took a three hour nap, so we had lots of time to play together. We played Memory. I am so good at it!

Mom and dad both liked these next pictures because I am actually smiling, not just doing my "camera" smile.

Everyone needs an afternoon of playing with their mommy.

Reminiscing

Mom and I were looking at old pictures and videos of me this morning. It's hard to remember a time when I couldn't talk...but apparently I was a baby once. Huh.

Here are a few pictures from when I was about Ryan's age..

How is is that I look so much like mom, Ryan looks so much like me...but Ryan looks more like dad?

Just thought we'd share these pictures with you since the blog doesn't even go back that far.

Weekend Tummy Time

People are always asking mommy how I do with "tummy time." Well, the truth is, I rarely lay down on my tummy, so she feels like a bad mom every time someone asks that question.

We figured we'd work on it a bit this afternoon. I don't think I've suffered from a lack of "tummy time." I'm pretty sure I'm just perfect.

I hope you are having a great weekend and getting in some good "tummy time," too!

Playtime!

On Friday, one of my girlfriends came over to play.

Check her out!

Her mommy is pretty cute, too. I was a happy camper sitting here with these ladies.

"So, Isabella..."

What a nice way to spend an afternoon...

Lunch Time

We know it's a waste of gas for daddy to drive home from work and have lunch with us...but it's worth it. We're pretty lucky to have such a good daddy.

LLLLLucky Charms

Since Gramma Jojo was last here, I've been practicing something. She posted a correction to our earlier post, suggesting that it should have been about "Wucky Charms," so I figured she needed to hear this...

Pretty good, huh?

Weekend BBQ

Just a few photos from our weekend...
