Chicken Train

Poor Fluffy. I feel bad for her. I really do. But just imagine what Jake would do to me if she were not here to distract him?

The other day, Jake was in his playhouse that Mommy made for him out of a big box. She was in the big house and kept hearing (happy) screaming and barking. She thought Daddy was outside with Jake. Nope.

Mommy looked out the window to see Fluffy being held up through the window of Jake's house and dangled in front of Chewy just long enough for him to lick her. Then she would disappear back through the window and Chewy would bark incessantly until she reappeared. And she kept reappearing. And reappearing.

As funny as this may sound (it does sound funny now...at the time it was really, really bad), again just imagine if he were torturing me like that.

Apparently this behavior is genetic. Check out our cousin Carleigh with her new ducks.

I'm glad I'm not a chicken. Or a duck.

Date Day

Mommy and I had a date today. We dropped Ryan off at Grandma and Grandpa's house, picked up some lunch, and headed off to the beach!

We ran around on the playground for a while. Mommy and I went down all of the slides, tested out the swings, chased each other around in the sand...so much fun!

I even made "sand angels." Yes, sand angels. I may well be the only kid from San Diego who has thought to do this, but it worked pretty well.

Then, we crossed the boardwalk to the beach and got good and dirty. We ran around the edge of the water (it's FREEZING, but apparently tourists don't care...?), picked up shells, write our names in the sand, and then built a sand castle. We dug a really deep hole and mom let me jump in it.

I'm not sure who had more fun, me or mommy!

Girlfriends

Yesterday was a day filled with girls!

My day started out with a quick visit from Grandma Susan, who came over to pick up Jacob. She makes me smile. A lot.

Then, Mommy and I went to the doctor for my 4 month check-up. The nurse was so nice to me and I was smiling like a crazy person at her. I loved the doctor, who was a girl, too. When she rolled me over onto my belly and commented on how very strong I was, I thought I would impress her a little bit more by smiling at her and then rolling over. She was impressed. I could tell.

For those who are keeping track, I weighed 14 lbs. and measured 25" long. This puts me in the 50-60th percentile for height and about the 40th percentile for weight. Since I eat like a pig, Mom and the doctor decided I was just blessed with a good metabolism.

The nurse, who I had successfully flirted with previously, came back in and gave me three shots. I cried, but I got over it quickly and forgave her. She was just doing her job, right?

After that, the real fun began. Mom and I headed down to see our friends Anna and Isabella. Isabella is just four weeks younger than me! I had fun looking at her and her mommy. We had a real treat and got to see Isabella's grandma and her great grandma, too! I really, really liked her great grandma. She kept making me laugh. It didn't matter one bit that she was talking to me in Spanish, I know a good grandma when I see one!

Here is a picture of me and Isabella. Notice we are not touching. Her daddy told me to stay away from her til she's 30. I was on my best behavior.

This morning, I'm pretty wiped out from all of the flirting I did yesterday. I fell back asleep in mommy's bed.

Apparently it's a pretty cozy place, because Jake decided to climb back in and join me.

Once we are both ready to get up (it's almost 10:30), I'm headed over to Grandma Susan's for a little bit and Jake and Mommy are going to have a date.

We're lucky boys!

Busy Boys

I have a new favorite place: SeaWorld!

I went there once when I was a much younger boy but I can't really remember it. Mommy and Daddy took us there on Friday (Daddy even took the day off!) and it was awesome!

I LOVED playing in the water. I got soaked, but since it was a nice, hot day it felt good. I kept running back and telling Mom and Dad that I was having soooo much fun.

Then we walked around some more and I saw pol-a bears....and well, I'll just tell you about it!

And here I am on the way out, dancing like a fool around the giant pol-a bear. What a fun place!

He's a Talker

Man, is this the way it's gonna be? I used to be the one who did all the talking, then this guy gets here and talks almost as much as I do. And I can't even understand what the heck he's saying.

Brothers.

Binkie Brat

Jacob has been cutting in on my time with mommy. We used to have a good two hours together every afternoon while Jake took a nap. That turd has been protesting naps lately, making a whole bunch of noise about it, too.

Well, on Monday, he tried to sneak something past mommy but he got caught!

I wake up happy and smiley. I'm sure mommy must like me better.

Silly Faces

I might not be able to talk, but I can certainly be expressive!

Have a great weekend.

Bucket of Chicken

How did she get in here? (I put her there.)

Now if I just pick her up like this...

I AM being gentle...

There. Saved from the bucket.

Happy Frog

Seriously, Mom and Dad?

On my birthday (a month and a half ago), Mom bought me a Thomas balloon. It has been hanging around the house ever since. I didn't even notice it was gone until I found this little gem of a video. Now I know where it went...

So my only remaining question is this: What else do you people do with my stuff when I am sleeping? I mean, really guys. Isn't that a little silly?

Parents.

Messy Faces

Here is my little brother, eating some cereal for the first time.

He didn't love it. But, he did eat a lot of it.

And since everyone was paying attention to him and not me, I figured I should probably just go ahead and help myself to some cheesecake.

So yummy!

I hope you are having as great a weekend as I am.

TV Morning

Mommy has some work to do this morning, so she said it was OK to just sit and watch TV. I decided to watch a movie I haven't seen in TWO whole days...

I hope you have a great day!

Spring Peepers

We went out in the yard this morning and look what we found! TWO froggies in our yard. Must be spring!

As you might guess from these pictures, we don't have much that we have to do today. We are just hanging out at home with mommy, trying not to eat all of the leftover desserts she made yesterday for the Oscar party. It's tough when the desserts are carrot cake cupcakes and chocolate cheesecake...

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

We're busy, Mom. I'm not gonna smile nicely. We're actually a little annoyed with you for interrupting our fun. This is what you get.

And WHY, oh why would I look at you when there are cartoons on tv?

Ryan and I are off to Grandma Susan's today. She offered to take us, and for some reason Mommy jumped at the opportunity to let us play somewhere else. I wonder if Grandma will let Obi come, too?

Have a great day!

Clean Babies

I had a bath this morning. I didn't even cry like I usually do. Mom finally figured out that I prefer to bathe in the morning.

Here I am, all clean and sweet-smelling!

You may remember a similar picture of my big brother...

Hmm...Jake is wondering if I will still look like him when I am a big three year-old.

Happy Monday!

R
